Headpiece Heaven
I have been designing and creating accessories ever since I was a very little girl. I have always been fascinated by vintage jewelry and have been collecting beads and pieces for as long as I can remember.
After graduating from college as an apparel design major (with fun classes in theater costuming), I began working in the garment industry as a retail buyer, designer and division head. My crazy, busy, career sent me traveling around the world creating clothing for retail chains and garment manufacturers.
I really did love my job but, after almost eighteen years of this very demanding lifestyle, I wanted to spend more time with my family.
In an effort to simplify my life, I started a small design business from home. Having always loved my theater costuming experiences, I tended to gravitate towards weddings which are, after all, personalized theatrical events!
Since 1992 I have worked with thousands of brides worldwide creating customized handcrafted headpieces and accessories.
In 1995 I opened a wedding specialty boutique in Bergen County, New Jersey. The Sequin Garden was a lovely little shop that specialized in ready-made and custom-designed headpieces and accessories.
In 2000, as a quality of life choice, I decided to close the shop and move my business online; the best decision I could have ever made!
I especially love giving vintage jewels and components new life by creating unique one of a kind upcycled wedding headpieces and accessories. I love searching for unique vintage jewelry pieces and broken parts, as well as never-used vintage stock from defunct jewelry manufacturers.
In addition to wedding accessories I also create unique assemblage jewelry for everyday use under my Sequin Garden label.
I take great pride in handcrafting my designs with artistry, precision, and tender loving care.
I hope you will find pieces you love as much as I enjoyed creating them. Please let me know if you have any questions, or special requests, and thanks so much for visiting my shop!
Headpiece Heaven and I wish you much happiness!
